LOAM Children's Home

LOAM Children's Home

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

—  James 1:27

Out of Persecution

Today LOAM supports a boy's and girl's home. These homes were created out of the Christian persecution by radical Hindus that killed the families of 25 children.

The violence in the State of Odisha in 2008 was the culmination of prolonged propaganda against the Christians. More than 75 Christians were killed over weeks of continued violence, over 5000 Christian houses were looted and destroyed along with 250 churches and Christian institutions desecrated, looted and reduced to ashes. Moreover, the most affected people during this severe persecution were the children. Thankfully  we were able to gather them safely to the children's homes.

Today, after adding other orphans and impoverished children, the homes now are supporting 70 children. Our children's' homes provide full-time family-style care for these orphaned and destitute children. These two children's homes help the children with education, three meals per day, shelter and clothes. Apart from this, we have morning and evening prayer to nurture them spiritually; we teach them the Bible stories, and conduct VBS. We also have various programs like song competitions, Bible quiz, dancing etc. for these children. By doing all these, our main goal is to help them know  Jesus Christ. There are more children waiting to be part of our children home, but due to financial constraints, we are not able to take them right now.

We will definitely consider their request if we get the needed funds for them.

We hope that by raising them to be leaders they will someday transform their families, communities, and ultimately the nation India as the future leaders of the church.  These are beautiful children, without parents to love and care for them, who are often hungry and struggle for their most basic needs. In India villages there are hundreds of children are not able to go to grade school because they lacked few rupees/dollars, but LOAM has been getting them into school, with supplies, and school uniforms. At this place, we desire to go beyond meeting children’s basic needs to helping them fully develop their God-given potential. We want them to gain a vision for themselves and equip them to impact their community. The ministry to children is also enabling us to fulfill the larger vision of planting new churches and strengthening existing congregations. We need people like you to help us make a difference in their lives.

You can make a difference in a child's life today. By supporting monthly or giving  a one time gift, you are helping them have their needs met. Currently this ministry is running half funded.

Any donation will make a difference.
